Self-publishing, Print-On-Demand (POD) publishing, and E-books have changed the landscape of the publishing world, allowing more authors than ever to get their books into print. In addition, online bookstores and individual websites offer viable sales avenues for authors to compete in today’s dynamic book market. But this new ease of publishing also increases the responsibility of authors to meet or exceed literary standards of excellence usually associated with traditional publishers. Fortunately, many authors who publish via a nontraditional method are up to the challenge. And Idlebury Books wants them to get the credit they deserve. Hence, Idlebury Books was founded in 2009 with the mission to promote self-published and POD published books that merit recognition; however, due to the method by which they were published, are commonly ignored by the traditional literary market.

Idlebury Books’ first book is a YA book titled, Be Careful What You Wish For. . . The Story of Gwendolyn the Great, Savior of Idlebury, Protector of the Universe by Stef (the pseudonym of Idlebury Books’ founder). This award-winning book is the first in a series of four.
